We are starting a new team in Beijing, and our mission is to support the security development of Nokia products, services and solutions. The team is under the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, and has strong links with our team counterparts in Finland and USA. Our operations are truly global, with a focus on APAC and Greater China area.
General Purpose
You advise, guide and give input on product security to the engineering community in specific research or technology areas.
Main Responsibility Area
You are innovative and active in contributing ideas, solving problems and defining project contents. You participate in, and contribute to, reviews and audits of tasks/projects/programmes. You give input to influence the development of product security in technology areas. You translate current and future customer/end user expectations to products and solutions. You facilitates competence development, knowledge sharing and coaching and mentoring within product security and other technology areas.
Scope
Individual Contributor
You perform and/or coordinate day-to-day activities to meet departmental/project objectives. You carrie out root/cause analysis in more complex problems. You can develop and implement recommendations.
Impact
Impact is short-term and usually departmental/project in scope. You are accountable for quality, accuracy and efficiency of your own and/or the team achievements. Your actions and errors can have program, project, functional impact.
Key Tasks
- Test and analyze the security of Nokia products.
- Generate test material for new protocols and technologies used in Nokia products.
- Create and develop new tools for security testing.
- Handle security incidents and analyze technical details of vulnerability reports.
- Give technical trainings, expert consultation and support on product security related topics.
Individual Portfolio
- Typically 6-9 years relevant experience. Key contributor, recognised specialist. Degree.
Technical skills:
- Software coding skills in Assembler, C and Perl/Python (preferred) are a MUST.
- Linux experienced user.
- Familiar with Internet and networking techologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, web protocols etc.) and how they work on a technical level.
- Knowledge and previous working experience in information/product security is a big plus.
- Experience in forensic analysis is preferred, but not required.
Language Skills:
- Fluent English (both spoken and written) is a MUST.
- Fluent Chinese Mandarin (both spoken and written) is a MUST.
Personal Skills:
- High curiosity and passion for security and new technologies.
- Self-learner, proactive in seeking information and share innovative ideas.
- Very social, easy going attitude. Good personal networking skills with similar technical/engineering experts.
- Good sense of humor.
Environment
You accept responsibility for and demonstrate support for delegated decisions. You require minimum supervision. You use non standard approaches to resolving issues. You suggest improvements and seek opportunities for innovation. Some collegial or consultant interaction.
